Around The Cross monthly magazine was first published in February 1985 replacing the previous magazine. It contains a mixture of news and relevent articles relating to the Christian year. We also feature items provided by church members and other people from the community of Headless Cross & Southcrest. Contributors may cover any subject that may be of interest to our readers. Contributions are accepted at the Editors discretion. Please email articles etc  in Word.doc or .txt formats only.

The current  12 page A5 booklet format started in September 2003, previously it has been a folded A3 sheet.

Each month we publish over 2500 copies of Around The Cross which are delivered to most of the homes in the Parish. Around The Cross is self funding and we are grateful to the local businesses that advertise with us. If you would like to advertise in Around The Cross, please contact Dave Cattell below.

Around The Cross is produced on computer using Serif Page Plus 10 desk top publishing software. The hard copies are then scanned into our bulk printer and we then run the magazine copies off. It takes us about four hours to print the magazine each month. At 12 pages Around The Cross comprises of 3 double sided sheets, so that's 15,000 print actions per issue or 180,000 per year.

The loose sheets are then boxed up and go off to be machine collated - we used to do this by hand but this proved to be very hard work.

After collation the magazines are returned to the church were they are bundeled into distribution packs and our dedicated delivery team pick up their pack and deliver the magazine round their 'patch'. 

As you can see Around The Cross is a vast undertaking and its all done with volunteers.
